Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

For some, choosing a therapist can feel intimidating, and finding the right fit for you is important.  I am happy to speak with you briefly on the phone to answer any preliminary questions you might have about therapy in general and how I practice specifically.  The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to investigate further if I am a good match for you.  During this time, I will be interested to hear what brings you to therapy, but I will also share more of how I practice and some expectations you can have of me as a therapist.  For minors under the age of thirteen, a caregiver must be present for the initial consultation.  For an adolescent over the age of 13, it is their decision to involve the caregiver in treatment; however, because most adolescents' concerns are related to family dynamics, it can be helpful to consult with family members at the onset of treatment in order to have a fuller understanding of what brings the client to therapy.

Appointments

Psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes long and begin at the time scheduled.

Initial Consultation: $160

Individual and Couple, 50-minute session: $160

I allow 3 cancellations per year. Outside of those three, the client is financially responsible for the session. My cancellation policy is this way for two reasons: I'm looking to work with individuals who are committed to the process and my policy makes the work sustainable for me. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I want to do my part in making therapy affordable to all and aim to keep around 25% of my practice open for “sliding-scale” appointments. I cannot guarantee that I will have a sliding-scale spot available at the time of your inquiry.

At this time, I am do not accept insurance, but can provide you with a receipt for out-of-network billing.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.
